Labels Spotlight: Deformeathing

Deformeathing is another heavy hitter, in-your-face straight outta Poland. Pretty sophisticated name, I must say. It seems there are many good labels in Poland. This one started in 2005 in Zembrzyce. Their first release with the catalog number DP001 was "Deformed - Project Torture 004" (maybe that's the origin of the label's name?). For many years, there weren't many releases to show off, only some splits, and vinyl editions.

It took 10 years for Deformeathing to spread their wings for real and finally release some truly quality stuff. Starting with a pretty rad DVD from Squash Bowels, to such underground phenomenon, like Epitome, Sphere, or Terrordome. In 2016 also was the first of many re-releases, namely Trauma, and their "Invisible Reality" demo with additional rehearsal from 1991, and year later their debut album "Comedy is Over". Very luxurious releases in slipcase, and obviously recommended.

Next years brought even more hits, with bands like Straight Hate, Hostia, Banisher, Reinfection, with another remasters of Polish classics, like Christ Agony, Dragon, or Betrayer. My personal fave is the rather obscure Thrash / Industrial presented by Grin. Deformeathing invests in quality Polish Metal, for which they deserve massive respect.

As of today, the label has 72 unique releases, which might be not impressive in terms of quantity, but certainly in regards of quality, as I don't remember anything substandard from the label. Only this year we were gifted with such masterpieces like Sphere "Inferno", grand return of Christ Agony with "Anthems", and pretty soon we will have a delight in form of Epitome "Goodbye My ROT". The latter AFAIK was a huge success for Deformeathing, and for a long time they were popular in South America, including Mexico and in my humble opinion, they belong to the top of Deathgrind genre. Every self-respecting maniax should be acquainted with them.

And of course, it's not only a cool label, they're also a pretty cool shop. You can always ask them about the upcoming releases, have something imported / or call dibs on particular CD, or even get something extra (like Satanic Corpse, for which I am grateful, because I would have never find it on my own, you could say that they sponsored that particular post).
