SWITCH TO PL

Today, a short and a quick one.

What's going on in Belarus? Only putin knows. This mysterious nation, related to Poland, has always had it rough and tough. A long time ago, I managed to dig up a gem. Where others preferred to indulge in some boring progressive Belarusian bands (like Hospice), I preferred something more traditional. THAT MEANS, BRUTAL DEATH METAL / GRINDCORE.

Let's start with a bang. Exhibit A, please:

Skip to 27:20, the second version of "Malice in Silence" (I skipped the unnecessary intro). A powerful opening, with an Obituary vibe. It's probably from some Belarusian compilation, but I haven't found any information about it anywhere; it was probably distributed illegally to keep the KGB from catching them (unlike the Russians, who made corrections and reforms in their own country, Belarus still has this agency unchanged and without any break in continuity in terms of ideology or structure - killing them would be a mercy for this world). You have a real RARITY in your hands right now.

The rest of the album sounds incredibly homey and cozy, even though it was supposedly recorded in a studio. Unless, of course, it was a painted-over closet meant to simulate a studio. As a matter of fact, I know nothing about this band. Their biography is classified by Lukashenka. Maybe someday, this nation will be free, and can join the rest of the world.

I won't particularly encourage you to listen, especially if the above hasn't convinced you. However, I think it's better to dive in and delve into something more exotic than to be endlessly excited by the same old thing.
