Anatomia POL: Agressiva 69

  

WANKER SIDE 

I fucken love Industrial. Einsturzende Neubauten. Atrax Morgue. Controlled Bleeding. Frontline Assembly. Godflesh. Literally anything. Give me an ant's farts and call it Industrial and I will love it. The irony of Industrial is that it was supposed to be a futuristic music. Instead it dated so badly, that you can guess the year by the sound of it. Metal on the other hand, so many times called "dated" still lives and thrives. Alas, I digress...

Each country has this problem that they have a literal equivalent of something, like how many times you said, "oh, this is Mexican Axel Rose", or "oh, this is a German Sepultura", or "oh, this is a French Madonna mamma mia". It happens, it's normal, we compare the things that are similar. It's human.

Agressiva 69's first album was pure Skinny Puppy. Not Ministry, not NIN. PURE Skinny Puppy. I had the tape from my friend, who received the tape from his older cousin. I did not have internet then, so I could not learn much about the band, other than what I've already knew. The band itself softened their sound (why?????) and indeed, became NIN lite, with their second album being "Downward Spiral" lite, then becoming even softer and creating electro Pop. They even worked for many TV shows, creating theme songs and other shit, but suffice to say, they never returned to their Dark Industrial side of their debut.

Recently, I've bought a boxset featuring their early albums, and for the first time, I could blast such songs like "Agressiva 69" (yeah I know, but at least they didn't call their first album Agressiva 69), "Stary Bóg" (Old God), "Zamaskowany" (Masked, oooh yeah I love that drilling guitar), "Fast Food" (no translation necessary) on my stereo. It felt great.

But what I really want to convey is that people from non-english countries shouldn't have any inferiority complex. Just enjoy your homeland stuff and your national treasures. Even if they are derivative, they are still your own

PRAWILNA STRONA 

O żesz... trudno było już czasem się uwolnić od tego zespołu w latach '00. Jakież było moje zdziwienie, gdy dostałem ich debiut na taśmie od syna ojca wujka kuzyna kolegi (po kądzieli - swoją drogą, kiedyś to jednak ludzie się dzielili rzeczami, a nie je wyrzucali), i jeezu - nie spodziewałem się po Agressiva 69 takiej płyty. Kojarzyłem ich już trochę z telewizji, więc miałem lekki dysonans.

To nie jest miły, grzeczny Industrial do śpiewania po pijaku (jak Rammstein), oni naprawdę grali na całego. Na cholerę im była ta komercja? Nie wydaje mi się, aby na tym zarobili kupę kasy, a tylko poświęcili samych siebie ("Money is a sin" z dwójki brzmi przewrotnie). Ich ostatnie dzieła (których nie raczyli dodać do niedawnego boxseta, com go capnął) stopniowo wracały do tego starego Industrialu, ale to już nie było to. Grupa stała się strasznie dziaderska i nie tylko dlatego, że wyłysieli, ale też ponieważ nie mają w ogóle żadnego pazura w swym dźwięku.

Warto jednak chwycić (za cyca) i posłuchać staroci.

Styl jest skrajnie archaiczny, niedzisiejszy i oldskulowy. Co mnie przyciąga do tego materiału, to jego totalny mrok. Zdecydowanie więc polecam "Deus Ex Machina". Ich inne dokonania nie są może złe, ale to nie jest klimat Nekro Metalu, więc nie polecam.

Są oczywiście lepsze zespoły, zwłaszcza jak mówimy o Industrialu. Owszem, Agressiva 69 jest zdecydowanie "typowa" i niewiele więcej. Mają jednak jedną przewagę - umieją robić koncertowe bangery. Jestem w stanie sobie wizualizować ich wczesne koncerty. Kokaina pewnie się tam sypała szeroko.

No i fakt faktem, dzisiaj coś takiego nie powstanie, bo jest to płyta mocno osadzona w klimatach, w jakich powstawała. I śmiem twierdzić, że warto do nich wracać. Nie tylko mafia rządziła w latach '90, alternatywa, czy tam, agressiva również.
