Remember the Heroes: Ozzy Osbourne

English version only

Today, on 22th of July 2025, has passed away the most important musician in the Metal genre. A God among men, along with Lemmy Kilmister.

OZZY OSBOURNE, THE MAIN MAN HIMSELF

There are people, who always seem to be indestructible, and who seem as if they are about to live forever. Believe it or not, but I seriously thought that Ozzy would outlive me. And then, when the inevitable happens, there is a shock and confusion. Every single time.

My memories of Ozzy works start obviously in the 90s, when I was a kid, and VH1 was doing some Classic Music weekend special. I already knew about who Ozzy was, thanks to my Dad and Uncle, but it wasn't until then, when I could finally listen (and see) Ozzy performing music. Whether it was "Bark at the Moon", "Dreamer" or "Parry Mason", there was a muscle to this music and strength that I couldn't find elsewhere. Very quickly I started asking my Uncle about whether he had some Black Sabbath / Ozzy Osbourne CDs.

The rest as they say, is history.

Writing about the achievements of Ozzy would require a book, and there is still stuff I am myself discovering every time I go back to my beloved music, and probably will always find new stuff that I did not notice before.

And instead of that, let me present to you below, the video for the song "Paranoid", not because it's one of the most famous songs by Ozzy, but because I really love how you can fully see the passion, as well as pure joy on Ozzy's face, when he's singing. That energy and enthusiasm is simply infectious:

Thankfully, we still have with us such people like Alice Cooper, Tony Iommi, or King Diamond, but do remember also about your friends, loved ones, who are with you as well, and cherish them.

Cheers.
